Inspired by Birdsall Estate’s rich history and ties to Jane Austen, the shoot seamlessly blends classic beauty with contemporary touches, offering a wealth of inspiration for couples seeking refined, elegant wedding inspiration.

The editorial was carefully curated using wedding trends as a guide rather than the rulebook, allowing inspiration to flow from Birdsall’s Georgian and Regency interiors while allowing modern elements to delicately flow throughout the overall aesthetic.

The colour palette was created to celebrate the arrival of spring, featuring fresh greens and soft rose tones to evoke warmth and romance. This delicate balance complemented the Ballroom’s statement Eau De Nil walls and drapes, while a subtle accent of burgundy used throughout the floristry added depth, echoing the rich tones found in the room’s historic portrait paintings.

Inspired by Jane Austen’s love of writing, handmade envelopes were incorporated into the place settings as a nod to the art of letter writing in the Regency era. Letters played a significant role throughout Austen’s storytelling, carrying emotion, romance & meaningful connections—much like a wedding celebration itself.

Texture also played a key role throughout the styling, inspired by the intricate embroidered textiles throughout Birdsall House. This focus on craftsmanship influenced the bespoke hand-embroidered invitation suite, which brought a tactile, heirloom-quality element to the stationery, further enriching the editorial’s depth and character.
